7 Days and counting
22 May
Only one week left until the race begins and I’ve taking care of the important preperations. I have cleared off all the unnecessary junk off the ReplayTV and set it to record all 13 episodes.
With only a week left, and too much to do at work, I’m probably not going to get the Team Analysis done. However, if you would like to chime in with your comments on any of the racers, please feel free.

Amanda and Chris (Dating): They both come off as very unlikeable in their bios, but I’ve learned not to rely on those too much. Pre-neutral
David and Jeff (Best Friends): I typically like the alpha male teams (Rob and Brennan, Chris and Alex, Derek and Drew) but some of these guys’ previous jobs turn me off. Pre-dislike
Debra and Steve (Married Parents): They’re both overweight and getting up there in age, so their only advantage might be their travel experience. Still, they seem likeable enough. Pre-like
Jon and Al (Best Friends/Clowns): In the past, self described clowns like Gary and Dave have been excrutiating to live with, but these guys are actual professional clowns, so if they don’t do excessive mugging it might work. Pre-like
Kelly and Jon (Engaged): They come off as bigger tools than Amanda and Chris, but like I said before, I don’t rely on that much. Pre-neutral
Millie and Chuck (Dating 12 Years/Virgins): Man, how sad a gimmick is that? I’m all for saving yourself for marraige, but 12 years and they still haven’t taken whatever leap they’re going to take? Plus the fact that they feel the need to mention it makes me worry about getting it repeatedly shoved in my face. However, Jon Vito and Jill thankfully didn’t go in that direction, so I’m hoping against hope. Pre-neutral
Monica and Sheree (NFL Wives/Moms): Not quite sure what to make of these two. They seem likeable enough, but their insistence that they’re breaking a sterotype turns me off. Pre-neutral
Reichen and Chip (Married): I wish people would stop calling them the token gay couple, since we haven’t had one of those since the first season. Hopefully they’ll be more likeable than Joe and Bill. Plus they’ve got all that athleticism and experience. Pre-like
Russel and Cindy (Friends/Dating): Yes, you read that right. Apparently they’re the latest who are trying to figure out how to have their cake and eat it too (tm George Costanza). Plus, Cindy describes herself as an ex-supermodel despite no one having ever heard of her before. Pre-dislike
Steve and Davd (Air Traffic Controllers): Every year, there’s one team that always makes you smile when you see them. These guys seem to be that team this year. In the past, the funny guys have never won, but with their ability to handle stress I really think they have a shot. Pre-like
Steve and Josh (Father and Son): I can’t really form much of an opinion about them except that they seem like a less extreme Dennis and Andrew from last season. Pre-neutral
Tian and Jaree (Friends/Models): After seven gay men, and two more this season, it’s nice to finally see a lesbian contestant. Besides that, I don’t have much to go on. Pre-neutral

I agree with most of what you say. However, I do have a difference of opinion on a couple of the teams.
Millie and Chuck (Dating 12 Years/Virgins) - I think the whole virgins thing is being blown out of proportion by CBS. As long as the team doesn’t rub it in our face all the time, I’m fine with it. Besides, I respect them for their choice. It isn’t easy to do in this day and age. Pre-like
Reichen and Chip (Married) - I’m going to pre-dislike these two based solely on my disagreement with their relational status. Call me narrow minded if you like. Once the race starts, we’ll see if their personalities can win me over. Pre-dislike
Steve and Josh (Father and Son) - I’ve got to root for them just because their the father/son team. Pre-like
Tian and Jaree (Friends/Models) - I think Tian is claiming to be a lesbian as a way to get on the show. But which ever way she actually goes, it’s all about the race. Pre-neutral
