Leg 4: Racer Rankings

24 Jun

Well, 4 legs down, 9 more to go. I’ve finally found the first team to Love. And I’m getting close on the team to hate. Read on to see which is which.

David & Jeff
These two are slowly developing personalities. As they observed, they need to start working on their mental game. Especially after running right past the clue box at the bottom of the gorge. We’ve gotten so little on this team, I’d almost bet they make it to the final 3. And since they haven’t done anything to really piss me off, they get to stay on the Like list.
Jon & Al
I love these guys. I don’t care what anyone else says, these two are the best team. They work together, they think before they act, and they are holding their own. The two get to be the first team to make it onto the Love list.
Kelly & Jon
Hmm… It seems that Kelly has decided that she needs to fill the role left vacant by last weeks departure of Russell. So these two are on my Dislike list.
Millie & Chuck
Say what you will about these two, but they’re doing well in the race. Millie is obviously very driven to do well, and that seems to be coming across as very pushy. I’m sure that it can be draining for Chuck, but he seems to be holding up well. Oh, and I’m in the camp that says that the voice over of Millie harrassing Chuck while he was having his panic attack was edit in from somewhere else. These two stay on me Like list.
Monica & Sheree
I must say that I’m surprised at how well the “wives of professional athletes” are doing. They have run hard when need be, and haven’t made any bonehead decisions yet. So I’ll put them on this weeks Like list.
Reichen & Chip
Team Integrity? Give me a break. Chip seems to drag out the Integrity card whenever he gets a chance. And it is really growing old. Especially since I have yet to see them show any integrity at all. I’ve seen them complain about like jumping and use that as an excuse for their bad behavior. I’ve seen them cling to the doors of the train station like a pair of 4 year olds. And I’ve seen them cut in line, then complain when everyone questions them about it. Nope, no integrity here, just a whole lot of whining. Dislike list again this week. Too much more of this, and they may make it down to the Hate list next week.
Steve & Dave
I will admit that the tire slashing comment was entirely uncalled for. Yes, they were tired and cranky from sleeping in their cars, and Chip & Reichen and Tian & Jaree did jump to the front of the line, but they blew the whole issue way out of proportion. Still, with their uncanny ability to come in next to last, you gotta love ‘em. So, I’ll leave them on the Like list for another week.
Steve & Josh
We finally get to see some sparks fly between these two. And it ain’t pretty. According to post race interviews, they received bad directions from not one, but three different people they asked. It almost seems like the French intentionally misled them. They wouldn’t do that, would they?? Anyways, I’ve got mixed feelings on this team. Steve seems like a nice dad. He goes along with Josh even when he thinks he’s wrong. But Josh just rubs me the wrong way. So this team will end their race on the Undecided list. Au revoir.
Tian & Jaree
Tian needs to just shut up. Her endless harrasing of Jaree over her pack is just too much for me. And she needs to learn some diplomatic skills as well. You can’t walk away from an argument when you are the argument. The proper answer to the question about whether you’re going to park there is: “Yes, this is where the guard told us to park.” If pressed about entry order, offer to let them go first. It’ll garner you a little good will that you may be able to use down the line. And it won’t put you to far behind. You get on the Dislike list again this week.

So this week we’ve got 1 team on the Love list, 4 on the like list, 1 Undecided, and 3 Dislikes. We’ll see how things change this next week.
