Here are my initial impressions of the racers based on the pre-race info available at CBS.com. I know I’m a little late getting this posted, but better late than never. The last few write ups here were written this morning after having seen Leg 1, but I’ve tried to keep my likes and dislikes based solely on what is on the CBS website, which isn’t much.

So, without further ado, here are my impressions of the TAR 6 racers. Feel free to agree or disagree as so led.

TAR 6 Racer Impressions

Adam/Rebecca

Not too much to say about these two. The conflicting personalities should prove entertaining as the stress of the race starts to wear on these two. No particular feelings one way or the other on these two.

Avi/Joe

A pair of “New York Jews”. Hopefully the editing guys will be able to lay off that label. These two seem like a couple of ok guys. Otherwise, not much impression.

Don/Mary Jean

I always have a soft spot for the older teams. I’m hoping these two do very well for themselves. Their travel experience should come in handy, as will their zest for life. I hope these to go far.

Freddy/Kendra

Another pair of models running the race. We’ll see if they survive as well as the previous ones have. Their “deep mutual love and respect” will be tested in this race. Lets just hope their relationship survives.

Gus/Hera

Two headstrong racers who are in a father/daughter relationship? No, there won’t be any sparks here, will there? The seem to have some good skills for dealing with the pressures of the race, but only time will tell if they are able to use them.

Hayden/Aaron

A woman named Hayden? What were her parents thinking? Anyway, they’ve got the classic Type A/Type B personality thing going, so they’ll have a melt down at some point. They’re athletic background should serve them well. Let’s just hope they have some brains and map reading ability to go along with it.

Johnathan/Victoria

This is the “going on the race to fix our relationship” team. And we’ve seen how well that works in the past. They’ll either kill each other or become much closer. Only time will tell which.

Kris/Jon

These two sound like a nice couple. No mention of any racing or travel skills, so it will be interesting to see how long they last.

Lena/Kristy

Sisters. That special relationship that can either be great, like my mom and aunts, or troubled, like my wife and sister. We’ll have to see which way there’s goes.

Lori/Bolo

Wrestlers, huh? Their strength and pain threshold ought to give them an advantage physically, but you have to wonder how fast they’ll be given the bulk necessary for wrestling.

Meredith/Maria

Best friends. Let’s see if the friendship is strong enough to survive this race. Laid back doesn’t necessarily help in this race. We’ll find out if they can step up to the pressures of the race.
