Episode 11.1 - Elimination on the Mountain Top
And we’re off!
It was exciting seeing all the old racers again. Many old favorites, and a few not so favorites have returned for another run at the $1 million.
The race started off with the usual airport scramble with the lead teams mostly ending up on he first flight. I must say, though, that I’m surprised at Mary & David’s failure to ask about arrival times before buying tickets. That should always be the first question out of your mouth at an airport ticket counter.
The overnight bunching at the restaurant was unfortunate. I’d rather have seen the teams get started with a full leg with no breaks rather than have them all get bunched in the middle so that the choice of flights becomes largely irrelevant. Would that have saved John Vito & Jill? Probably not. But it might have allowed them to recover from the mistake of using the wrong entrance to the park.I must say, I think Kevin & Drew aren’t going to be long-lived on this show. With the falling down, blown tires, and general disregard for the condition of their vehicle, I foresee them stuck on the side of the road with a broken down car. I’m hoping the next leg instructs them to take their cars and drive back out. That way they’ll be forced to fix their flat tire and will suffer the consequences of having ignored it. Of course, with all the bunching, the delay probably won’t mean a thing.Who made an impression in this opening leg? Rob & Amber are playing strong and smart. Teri & Ian are holding their own. David & Mary seem to be in over their heads (again). Danny & Oswald seem calm, cool, and collected as always.
Here’s looking forward to next weeks leg!
