I liked this episode alot, not leastwise because of the actual challenge at the roadblock. Sitting at home with Phil telling you the secret of the Roadblock made it easy, but I know that it must have been immensely frustrating for those performing it (and for their partners). Mary certainly had a good technique of checking out the pictures on the wall first. It let her and David get a big jump on the rest of the teams.
It was clear fairly early during the episode that Kevin and Drew weren’t on their game. Drew especially was dragging, and his obsession with a phantom speed limit during the race to the pit stop was extremely telling. I’m sorry they weren’t in better shape for this race, but it really was time for them to go. Drew just didn’t seem to be mentally in the game this time around.Of the 9 teams left, Rob & Amber and Danny & Oswald are clearly the front runners having finished 1-2 in both legs so far. Joe & Bill along with Uchenna & Joyce are holding their own, but Uchenna & Joyce are having a few difficulties (see her performance at the Roadblock). I don’t think David & Mary or Charla & Mirna will be with us for much longer. Mirna is already starting to freak out, and Mary and David are still too reliant on the good will of the other racers.See you all next week.
