Three legs into this race, Rob & Amber seemed to be the team to beat. They had 3 first place finishes, and hadn’t made a mistake. But this last leg everything seemed to go bad for them.
They chose the more difficult detour option; made a mistake on it that they never realized; switched to the other detour option; went the wrong way; ended up on the last charter flight; headed in the wrong direction looking for the clue; and ended up on the next to last boat out to the island.
And that was just the mistakes they made. Then there was the unfortunate luck searching the mailbag that allowed Charla & Mirna to catch up and pass them.
A lot of controversy seems to follow Rob. There have been many debates on Rob’s approach to the race. Many think that his antics in his first race debased the pure competition of the race. But ultimately, he simply made use of the manipulation skills he had honed on Survivor and applied them to the race. And he always kept it within the confines of the rules.
So, Rob will be missed. And so will Amber. Best of luck to you. And I hope you enjoyed Sequesterville.
