I’d like to take a moment here and do a little handicapping of the rest of the race based on where it stands at this moment. When last we watched, Rob & Amber had just been eliminated from the race, victims of Rob’s inability to spell or think clearly when the pressure was on.
With Rob & Amber out of the race, that leaves 7 teams vying for the top spot:
- Mirna & Charla
- Uchenna & Joyce
- Dustin & Kandice
- Joe & Bill
- Teri & Ian
- Eric & Danielle
- Danny & Oswald
Mirna & Charla managed to avoid elimination this time, but they have been stuck in the bottom of the pack since this race started. I don’t expect any big movement out of them in the next few legs, so I’m predicting they will be gone within the next two legs.Uchenna & Joyce have been stuck in the middle of the pack for most of the first 4 legs. They managed to spring up into second last week, but quickly fell back this week. I don’t expect them to last beyond the midpoint of the race. There are just too many good teams left.
Dustin & Kandice are doing fairly well for themselves. They are middle of the pack and seem to be working their way up. A 4th place finish last week showed that they can certainly overcome adversity when the opportunity presents itself. I expect them to hang in until the later half of the race. Possibly even making the final 3/
Joe & Bill have been bouncing back and forth between the front and middle of the pack. They have shown a few flashes of brilliance and seem to be holding their own so far. But they need to be careful, keep their wits about them, and make sure they read all of the clue in order to make it to the end. I think they’ll make it to the final four.
Teri & Ian have shown themselves to be strong level headed racers. They’ve fallen behind a few times, and that may be their undoing, but they always seem to rebound. With Rob & Amber gone, I would predict at least one 1st place finish for them. And they are a definite final 3 contender.
Eric & Danielle have been a strong team, staying in the lead pack with apparent ease. But I sense a growing tension between the two of them as Eric seems to see himself as the brains and the brawn of the team leaving Danielle as the good looks. This dynamic isn’t going to last much longer, and I expect that the growing tension will start to distract them from the race and lead to an elimination before the final 3.
Danny & Oswald appear to be the team to beat at this point. They’ve had one middle of the pack finish when they had to fight with the flounder. Otherwise, they’ve been dogging Rob & Amber’s heels or stepping onto the mat first. I expect them to keep their act together and lead the remaining racers into the final 3.
Predictions
Now that I’ve gone out on a limb and predicted Teri & Ian, Danny & Oswald, and either Joe & Bill or Dustin & Kandice for the final 3, I’m sure everyone wants to know who I think is going to win it all. Of these 4 teams, I’m betting on Teri & Ian to take the $1 million dollar prize. Danny & Oswald are already showing a bit of strain from the race, and I expect that it will come to a head before the finish line and they’ll get passed for the lead.
