The first episode of the season starts with a bang as the teams leave Los Angeles and head straight for Switzerland. It was obvious that the episode was going to be a full one when the usual airport flight jockeying was reduced to a few short clips and a VO from Phil explaining which flight everyone was on.

Mark & Bill mark the return of self-professed nerds to the The Amazing Race. They appear to be a fairly unremarkable team. One with traveling experience, and one without. One is outgoing, the other is cautious.
The personality differences are likely to be tested if they last more than half way through this race. But there 23 year friendship has probably weathered some rough storms. I’m sure that it will be able to survive a month in the pressure cooker of the race.
I want to like these guys. We’ll see how they play out on screen. Good luck and Go Nerds!!
The Travel Channel has acquired the rights to rebroadcast season 12 of The Amazing Race. If you missed last season, or just want to relive the memories, you can catch starting Wed, Sept 3 at 8pm.
For reruns of earlier seasons, you’ll have to check out either GSN for seasons 1 through 8, ore Fox Reality for seasons 9 through 11. I don’t get either channel, so I’ve been out of luck.

As previously reported, The Amazing Race 13 is returning this fall. Now, CBS has announced their fall schedule, and The Amazing Race 13 is set to premiere Sept 28 at 8PM following 60 Minutes. [via TVBarn]
The Amazing Race has started casting for its 14th season. So far, they have casting calls for Boise, ID, Gainesville, FL, and Lancaster, PA. Looking to get on the race? Check out the link. This means that were still a good 6 months out from the Airing of season 14. But its always great to see progress.
